Tét Tet Tét: Vietnamese Lunar New Year
Do you know that at least eleven countries celebrate the Lunar New Year? The Vietnamese Lunar New Year, or Tet, is an indispensable part of Vietnamese heritage and a true embodiment of the Vietnamese spirit. Tet visits us only once a year, but the feelings it engenders linger for a long time. “Tét Tet Tét, Tet is around the corner.” Calculated by the lunar calendar, Tet typically occurs at the end of January or early February. It is a time for relaxation after a year of busyness, a time to return home for a family reunion and to welcome the new year with all its unexpected adventures. Tet is a pillar of emotional support for every Vietnamese soul. It is a time of tranquility; a welcome pause in the constant tension of the mind; a warm welcoming embrace of distant sons and daughters; a cup of soothing tea to nourish the voice of the heart. Simply put, a Tet filled with the beloved is a Tet full of love. Through a gift box containing a collection of objects that represent the spirit of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, Tét Tet Tét introduces viewers to various aspects of Vietnamese heritage manifest in the Tet holiday and brings all joy seekers along on a Tet journey filled with precious moments during a time of transition.
